Wide open, you keep the long view and the breeze coming across the deck. Fully closed, the wall is solid to the eye and nobody sees a thing. And every setting between the two is available whenever the sun, the wind, or the neighbors change your mind.
Sections operate independently, too. Open the side facing the mountains, keep the side facing the road shut — one deck, two completely different walls, adjusted in seconds.

A solid fence turns your deck into a box — dark, windless, and permanent. You get privacy whether you wanted it that hour or not, and you lose the view you paid for. An adjustable louvered wall gives you the same privacy on demand and hands it back when you're done. In a hard mountain wind you can even open the slats and let the gust pass straight through instead of fighting it.
